hi all i have just put my fc ute through enginnering here in wa .the job is made much easier the fewer the modifications made .i installed hr front+rear ,an eh steering coloum , bucket seats,ht rims and 195x14 steel rims .i kept the grey through choice. the rims and tyres are the biggest you can fit while it is being inspected, you can fit a red motor but only a 186 ,a bigger engine requires a chassis kit and brake upgrades ,2 speed wipers ect. the enginners report is 36 pages long and costs around $400  if your dad  has no real need for speed and just wants a nice little cruiser i would stay with the grey and just up grade the breaks and handling a bit . if you want to look through the paper work feel free to send me a  message ,i live in butler north of the river regards clive

quick update, i have removed the old 5 speed gearbox and have purchased a trimatic ,i replaced the seals front and rear/and also put a new filter kit through the oil pan .also a new air modulator ..made the mistake of trying to use an old torque convertor which was supposed to be fine.only to find the retaining nuts are stuffed, now have to wait for a recoed one to arrive.also have a new b+m shiffter to install it will take a bit longer than i thought!

13  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: trimatic floor shifter + on: October 13, 2013, 10:04:57 PM
thanks for all the help guys , i am taking it all in i am happy with what has been said so far apart from "having to relieve things a bit",my ute has just gone through engineers and rego so i am not to keen on major chassis mods ect. i already fitted a bigger gearbox tunnel and added a crossmember for the celica 5 speed.so if its been done before does any one have the experience of the fiddly body bits.sorry to be a pain in the butt but i have to get it right 1st time .

17  Technical Board / Modification Help / clutch pressure to hard after fitting 5 speed on: July 24, 2012, 09:54:41 PM
hi all i have recently fitted a celica 5 speed behind my grey motor . i tried it with a fc master cylinder and slave cylinder , then a celica master and slave cylinder. this works but needs a lot of foot pressure on the peddle , is this normal or am i doing something wrong., the bell housing is a w.a made seaton , with a celica clutch fork ,new pressure plate , bearing ,and celica to holden spigot bush.  also has any one got photos of there gear box supports ,mine uses the old gearbox supports plus a bracket i made my self all replies gratefully accepted regards clive
