Further to our parts for sale add.  We've picked up an FC standard sedan to wreck that has a Detroit-like strip that is confined to the rear door and quarter panel only.
Does anyone know of these at all?
As soon as I work out why the b..... USB port doesn't work I will post pics.
Thanks,
Alan and Jake

There's one (Florida from memory) that is a horizontal stripe from the large chrome flash on the rear-door to the top of the tail-light, but that's an addition to the Special chrome.  You sometimes see it with an aluminium insert (like XP Falcons and '57 Bel Air), and sometimes just painted.  Ken's 8th Nats Grand Champion had this kit:

Can't picture an original kit on the back doors only of a standard - might need the pic.

cheers

RET is right, the ones with the insert is the 'Florida' kit, the one in that pic (8th nats grand champion) looks like it was fitted with a californian moulding, as on our sedan. it will be interesting to see pics of the one on alans car....

G'dayy all,
Wait no longer.  I've finally been able to get a couple of pics up.

One of the sedan and one of the wagon.
Let us know what you think about the stripe; is it a Tilli or not?

Torque, can you PM me about it.

Cheers,

Alan and Jake

Heres the wagon too.

Definitely a home-spun job, not an original kit.  Certainly makes the car look a bit unusual.

I know the cars as well.  I can confirm it is a part Detroit kit put together.

RET is right

Gee thanks Roll Eyes can I have a smiley stamp too?

FWIW Tilli 'Californian' moulding is for FB, and looks nothing like a Florida.  It's almost identical to Miami, except has a small stainless panel on the fin-tip rather than the hubcap "H" badge.

The Tilli's catalogue doesn't list the aluminium insert as part of the Florida kit at all, so I'm not sure where that comes from.  The Florida optionally includes additional trim that sits below the Special "spear" on the guard and door, typically done with the same infill colour.

cheers
