hello i was wondering if anybody got any pics of the fuel injected/supercharged setup that was on an fj at the fx fj state titles last year. there is only one small pic of the setup on the vic site, and im really keen on the fuel injection on it, was wondering if maybe somebody would know how theyve setup the injectors? pics of inlet manifold would be awesome (if anybody got one..)

if anybody has anything to add about injecting a grey, feel free to post here!

Hi Torque
Got a link to the pic??
Yeah, have investigated EFI and it can be done on a grey with the Norman. All programmable thru a lap top. You should also be able to do it on a NA greymotor, just have to make up a decent inlet manifold to take a throttle body. Apart from the manifold the rest is pretty straight forward..

http://www.fefcholdenvic.org.au/gallery/index.php?gallery=FX-FJ%20State%20Titles

only really 2 good pics on that page, the norman one and the injected one!

just to confirm (dont know alot about injection) there would have to be a custom manifold made right? and then it would be drilled so injectors can be fitted?. i was thinking, why cant a vk injection manifold be copied in the dimensions of a grey motor inlet manifold  so it would all mount up like standard grey, but would have black 202 injectors, mount up a cold air intake, throttle body, map sensor, mat sensor and ofcourse the cts

still very keen to do this though, as reliability and power would be up quite a lot..

Thanks for the link
The blown and carbed FJ has been around for a while now. Haven't seen the injected one before.
Yeah, custom manifold  with injectors (or TBI) plus TPS, MAP sensor, O2 sensor, coolant and air temp sensor, fast idle soleniod and programable brian box.
Think the VK throttle body would be too big for a NA grey, it's 75mm from memory ( sorry tooo many wines tonite)

was ed a while back saying in one of his posts, that they use a computer from a camira??? if so, maybe a throttle body from a camira would suit this nicely?

i have been having a bit of a think, it would be nice to have a custom manifold, where the pod filter would end up where the battery usually is located, that way its not like the vk ones how it goes all the way over the motor (ugly!!)

will have a chat to the dyno place around the corner as
he specialises in fuel injection, maybe he could supply a few leads as to who could make up a manifold  Grin

thanks for your help, Tony, it is greatly appreciated!

yeah use a camira or astra.. JE camira I think, and not sure which model Astra..

I have the exact models somewhere.  basically if unsure look at the ECU, the last numbers should end in 808.

Cheers
