I'd take Cruzin' over ASR, maunly 'cos most of the articles in ASR seem to be written by illiterate idiots!... though Cruzin' isn't much better, except for the classifieds.

Street Machine is the only mag I buy religiously as they are the benchmark in ozzie mags and cover most things.

Be careful what you say SRVLIVES, it looks like another forum has been shutdown over someone's comments on the Motorvation Show in WA, lawsuit probably involved too.

I used to get Australian street rodding but the cars seemed a bit daggy, lots of pastel & billet fiberglass replicas of old cars, when cruzing came out I started getting that instead due to occasional cool stuff, oz files and music reviews.
Back when I used to go to summernats I used to by strret machine just before and after the summernats for summernats stuff but didn't really rate the magazine, recently I have skimmed through a few and they werent to bad, even bought a couple, the sm mag seems to have a bit of stuff now for everyone, as well as tech articles.
the best aussie mag imo was newsledder but its now obsulete, I guess it all comes down to personal taste.
I havent read australian street rodding for a couple of years so I couldnt tell you, maybe its changed.
If you are going to subscribe maybe you should just go to a newsagency and read the two and see wich one is for you

hey Glenn, you're probably right, feel free to edit that post.

Stevie Ray? Was a massive fan back when he died, haven't listened for a while, maybe I'm a little burnt out on him.

Don't worry though, I'm sure it's just a stage... Muddy be playin' at the moment!   Cool

Hey Surferboy....probably for the same reason they use a Z.
IMHO, they both have something to offer. I think Cruzin is great due to the Nostalgia Drag stuff. Love the coverage, even though they didn't print a pic of my car or John's even though we participated in both. Perhaps the next NOS Drags we will score a pic. The 1 thing I dislike about Cruzin is that they all but snub Aussie cars. The Oz Files is but a token. I did contribute a couple of pages in the last issue.....did anyone notice.  Grin
ASR has my vote if I can only get 1, as I love Rods and enjoy the swap and show coverage also. They also seem to snub the Aussie cars though.
These 2 mags are the only 2 I buy religously and would not like to be in a position where I had to pick 1, so I won't vote in your pole. Why not alternate buying a different 1 each month.
Regards
Alex.

I buy both mags.

ASR regularly because of Tedd Robinette's Workshop articles mainly, and the new garage crawl sections are cool too, also Chopper's articles for KOA every 2nd month.

Cruzin from time to time only because it just seems to be mostly pictures with no tech write ups.

Cheers

Ed

Geez Ed......I can understand why you like the Tech articles in ASR, I dig reading them also, even though most of what is written I will never need to know. I guess they are just a facinating read. BUT, the Chopper articles? ? ? I find them little more than self promotion and a waste of space! ! That's all I will say on that matter as I don't want this to turn into a rant.  Grin

Yeah I can see your point Alex, but at one point there was going to be a series on chopping that car (forget what it was, because it just ended!!).

don't tell me after reading the workshop articles you haven't considered putting an FC body on a Willys!! Tongue

now.. on a totally separate issue.

tell us more about your contribution to Cruizin'  i'm keen to pick one up for a good read.

Cheers

Hey Ed.
Ted certainly likes them Willy's.
Issue 62 had an event report and 3 pages of pics I took at the NSW GM Day.
