FE's rule

We confirmed with Alan Hale at last nights meeting that he will be bringing his original black V8 powered FC sedan to the Nats.
For all us FE and FC owners who go back to the seventies, this car was THE best FC in Australia and the bench mark for years to come.   It still runs the memorable "FC225" number plates and still looks good for its age and the number of runs down the quarter mile it has done.
Will be worth your entry to the Nats just to see this car again.

I saw Alan Hales car at the Vic All Holden Day a few years back and was awestruck by it.

In the '80's when Summernats was very young this was THE car. I remembered it from then, and to see it again so many years later was incredible. And it still looks the part. I agree with Ken, worth the trip to the Nats just to see this beauty :-).

Here's some pictures from the Vic All Holden Day that myself and John Rap went down to a few years back.

Full pictures of the day are here, worth a look if you're reasonably 'new' to the site

http://members.fortunecity.co.uk/fc0149/Vic_AHD/index.htm

And Bob Ljubic's FC, well you can't ask him, he's swimming with the bream off the Gap, just outside Sydney Harbour.....................

Cheers,

Craig.

P.S: It might also be worth the trip to see the changes to the Poo Mobile ;-)

Looking forward to seeing the car again, and also meeting Alan.
I believe Bob's old car is also down in Vic. Last I saw it it had personalised plates. Can't recall what they said though.

there is a car kicking around that looks very much the same as that, same rims and color, whats the number plate on it?

dont mean to high jack this thread either but does anyone know the story behind the skyline blue FC (i think) kicking around vic with 'hand controls 'etc etc, (aparently driver paraplegic) it has no trim on it (maybe a standard) ive seen the car around quite alot and im pretty sure this was another 70's built car

Hi Darcy,

Bob's number plate wass NSW 'BL-444'.

The car shown below is a previous Grand Champion and if my memory serves me correctly has hand controls. I also remember that it may have been sold after the 2001 Nats?Huh

Someone else will have a memory less affected by VB cans :-) (which you can now get in 500ml size - see THERE IS A GOD!)

Cheers,

Craig.

Darcy,

Great post.

I'd reckon thats the same car - check out the side mirror, its the same one. And what looks like a flare job on the front guard.

Like Alan Hales car, this FC was one that influenced lots of people to take notice of the FE FC model, especially me.

Cheers,

Craig.

Should scroll up a little before posting....  Embarrassed

I remember seeing Ljubic's car in Street Machine, I fell immediately in love with it.

Much rather it with the slot mags than the Welds though.

Hi Scott,
Yes your wright it was the Big M car which was in the add on TV in the early 90's. The car was also in the Vic club until the car was sold and never seen again by myself. Also if I'am correct the car was at Bendigo for the FE/FC Nationals which was Victoria's second go at the Nats.
 Cheers Tony Galea.

Did this red and silver car have a blue interior and what drive train did it run?

Hi Guys

The Maroon and silver car you guys are talking about was featchered in street Machine magazine issue Aug/Sept 84 page 18 to 21 and yes that car did have a bluish interior the car actually was the inspiration to my long going project.

Their was also 2 copy cars built that I know off one was at the Mildura Nats and the other was sold by a guy in Melbourne and the new owner actually turned up in it to the Penrith Nats.

Hope this info helps

Regards

Julius.

Hi all,
Went back and checked the car was at the 1993 Bendigo FE-FC Nationals and was owned by Vic club member at the time Ron Smith and was later sold to another Victorian named Brett ?

I saw a red and silver FC with a blue interior at Mt Gambier a while ago. The owner said it had been a show car and I think he said it had a clear bonnet at one stage. When I saw it there was some damage to the left side from a bushfire. He has since sold the car in the last year or so on ebay to someone in Western Australia.
