Am thinking of getting some bits 'n' pieces powder coated to look like zinc plating & wondering if anyone has done this, if so what are the results like & what colour was used

Hi Nickers,

I have seen it done and reckon It looks pretty good, but if you are after the OEM look, I don't think it is very similar.

I'm going "cheap" and trying some silver paint from POR15 on all my normally zinced bits.

Was thinking about powder as an alternative because it's closer to the powder coater than the plater, but as yet I havn't seen any of the powder coated silvers in reality only computer samples

You say you're using  POR15 - is that because it's close to a zinc finish or because it works out cheaper or both.

Cheers

Do you have any pics of the zinc finish that you are after?
The powder coater I use has a pin-up board with samples of every colour that they stock. I have seen this at other powder coaters too, maybe you should drop by your local coater for a squiz.
