Hoping someone can tell me what these two red motor 6 cyl heads were originally fitted to.I've looked up my Master Parts Catalogue (FX to HD) and the numbers aren't listed in it. First one has no 7420109 cast into it and second one has 9937263 cast into it.I suspect the 7420109 maybe off a 161 and suspect the 9937263 might be off a 173 or 179 maybe but these are only guesses. Both appear to have small kidney shaped combustion chambers.   Thanks Terry.

Hi Terry,
I suspect that 7420109 may be of an EH 149 HC. If I get a chance I'll have a look tonight. 9937263 is definitely NOT off a 179. Not sure what it is off??

Just looked up EH 149 High Compression head assembly part number in my FX to HD Master Parts Catalogue and it lists it as 7420108.......pretty damn close to 7420109!!!!......so I'd say your guess would be pretty near spot on GP, thanks.Nicko....yep it would be a good compression booster....probably give a 186 about 11:1 compression or so I guess and would probably ping its head off unless using premium fuel but still a good cheap bolt on performance mod  anyhow.Wonder what 9937263 is off???....has a near indentical combustion chamber shape to 7420109...    Terry.

Hi Terry,
I just checked my sons HX Holden and the number cast into the head is 9937262.  So i'm guessing your cylinder head is for a HX also Wink

Terry,
I checked on my EH last night & it's definitely 7420109 for EH 149 High Compression.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Graham
