Since the 2006 Nats is not only the 50th anniversary of the FE, but also the 50the anniversary of the Melb Olympics, then our Nats will have an Olympic theme to them.
In this regard we are conducting a torc relay around Australia to all the participating car clubs (well most of them anyway).

The torch will leave Melbourne next month for the ACT then onto NSW, MNC, Quuensland, SA, Tas and finally to WA.
The WA boys and girls will drive the torch across Australia to Phillip Island.

While in each state we would like photos at club runs or places of interest and pics sent back to us for publishing in the newsletter.  This will enable you to stir up interest in your own club for the Nats.

The torch is made from FE parts and should be able to stay in each state for about a month to allow for photo opportunities.

Any questions ?

Hey Ken,

Maybe the baton can be made into the inter club trophy that hasn't turned up yet after the relay.

Will it get as far as Cairns?

Jason, due to the time restraints we cannot organise a separate month in Cairns, but I have no problems in the Qld club sending the torch to you enroute to SA.
This is best organised between members of the Qld club as suggested by Shayne
