I seem to get oil spraying onto the firewall from the oil bath air cleaner but i can't find any evidence on the air cleaner itself ,hence don't know what to fix.Has anyone else suffered this problem? And what is the repair method? Cheers, Graham

Ditto.... I get it too, though only just worked out is was probably from the oil filter though.... didn't know where it was coming from originally. Love to hear how to stop it.... maybe too much oil in the filter... Don't know.... Cheers Les...

hi Les, How often do you clean the filter? Maybe they are blocked. Cheers, Graham

Ahh the oil filter i have finally fixed the problems with mine as it has been a pain in the XXXX for a while. The braided hose had perished and was spraying oil around and out of the engine bay. I also fitted a new filter and not 1 but 2 paper seals to the top of the filter to stop it weeping. Check the cork seal on your breather cap on the rocker cover as well and make sure your oil bath cleaner is not over full. Good luck and see you at the nationals.

Hi Brett, The problem is with the oil bath air cleaner yet I can't see any oil on the outside. It sprays the passenger side fire wall with oil and it only takes a small trip to cause the problem. Cheers, Graham

Graham,
Could it be the air movement from the engine fan blowing the oil from the exposed mesh element? If so, you could block off the rear of the exposed area with a finer mesh while you were on the road, and remove it for displays.
Cheers,
Craig.

Possibly I could close up the gap from the inner to the out of the air cleaner with some air cleaner foam. The filter gauze is not actually exposed.I'm sure your right that the engine fan blows the oil around. Cheers, Graham

What about trying an Fb air cleaner to make sure the air cleaner is the culprit ,just a thought. Geoff

:)G Day Graham. I think its the air pressure that occur when you take your foot off the axcelerator pedal and it causes some back pressure into the oil filter causeing it to bubble and burst and at the same time its sprayed by the air from the fan onto the fire wall. Remedy, lower the oil level in the oil filter or just empty it out. Not much dust around anyway. Regards. Leon

I will check the oil level. Also change the oil to a thicker viscosity. But you need the oil to filter the air otherwise your cylinders will suffer from dust in the air and become scored. Cheers, Graham
