I'm not near a parts manual to check, but I'm fairly sure all were plated, and there wasn't any special treatment for particular models.

It would seem more trouble than it was worth to send some of the scuff plates through the paint line at the factory and not all of them (if you were going to do any at all).  Mind you, they did do some pretty strange things early on in the FE range, but stuff was pretty standardised by FC.

cheers

While we are on the topic of scuff plates, I believe there use to be someone making repro's out of stainless, can you still get these?  Does anyone have any comments as to there quality?

100 % cad plated.  the repro ones are available in stainless or plain steel through Rare Spares.  Made by the same guy, but he now sells through R/S
