I've got a bit of an Australian 1/43 collection started, don't care much what it is, as long as it's Aussie, but I really want an FC ute. Does or has anyone made them, Trax or anyone ?

scott    youve been digging deep to find this thread.
i have 2 micros...both pretty lousy models...a plastic fj van (watsonia food products)& a diecast fe ute (tassie police).  cant lay my hands on the box for fe  but on the fj box it says they were made in gosnells (a perth suburb)
cheers trev
ps  STILL waiting for trax or bianti to do fe/fc commercials & wgns...may be we should start campaigning

I believe ya trev ,
maybe you have an original one, as the box does state being made from the original micro tooling.
im quite happy with the FC wagon they dont have any interior pretty bob basic but when you look at it you certainly know what it is. they are fully cast with rubber tyres.
the signage reads: the original & genuine LEA & PERRINS worcestershire sauce

cheers

Guys,

I posted a short history of Micro on the forum late last year (I think). It is contained on the "Micro Models" thread on page two. It might answer the confusion over where the models were manufactured.

Hope its of interest.

got this info from a nz collecta about micro models
Micros were made in Australia originally, then in NZ. Very collectable

There are 6 ranges:

1952-61 MicroModels, Australia

1956-1960 Lincoln , NZ (founder was
Lincoln Laidlaw, founder for Farmers!)

1970s Matai/Torro

1982-83 Plastic models out of Perth

1980s Repros in Sydney

1994 Chch NZ (Meates family)

as the photo shows (i hope) the colours are pristine and new

In 1994, the Meates family brought back to NZ a lot of stuff from Aus, including the dies etc.

this guy also has a lot of the holden micro model for sale all bout 35 dollars each on this site

Thanks Glen,
what did i do wrong this time, as i have no idea. when i typed url in i would hit preview and it would keep coming up with mistakes (not as i typed in) so i kept amending them but still no satisfaction.
