Hi Guys, had a few calls asking how old shiny was progressing so I thought I would attach a couple of shots. I did not reckon on how much time it would take to do the engine bay strip and repaint while I was doing the motor, but then I am not a painter and it was the first time I have used two pack. Like the paint supplier said I probably wont go back to acrylic.
The motor was bored to 31/4 and a little cam fitted, the most fiddliest part was getting that dam rear main seal right.
Fitted it on Saturday and took it for a run Saturday evening, very happy, not too much more to finish now.

Thanks for the support and help guys

I hope one and all has a merry Xmas and I look forward to catching up at Motorfest

Cheers ChrisB  Cool

PS it now has an oil gauge fitted too  Grin

Chris,

Looks great mate.  Can't wait to see it in the flesh (metal) at MotorFest.

Everyone,

You can only include a single file as an attachment.  Simple as that.  To post multiple pictures in the same message, you must link to images already available on the internet elsewhere, such as StarPhoto or whatever.  The other alternative is to make one image out of multiple images using PhotoShop or similar, and then attach that.

Hope that helps,

Chris,

well done- the engine bay looks fantastic.

I was wondering what the standard colour for the engine bay is. Was it body coloured or black (like in EJs). The light colour really adds to the effect.

Cheers,

David

Thanks Guys

Dave the early FC's had the body colour under the bonnet, I am not sure when they changed to the grey/black colour. The guy who had painted my car previously did yellow on the firewall down to the first crossmember, I did not like it that way. I had a good look at Graham Fullers car as it is original, and cut off the yellow at the seam at the bottom of the firewall. Dont know if this is correct but it looks much better. I also redid the floor back to the diff hump

Have a great Christmas and enjoy a nice cruise with the family. You said you would have old shiny back on the road by Christmas.

Well done she looks great and I see even more chrome has been added.

hi,i cant explain details because every program is a bit different but to put more than one photo into a new single pic you need to go with "effects" then  drag both pics close together and use "stitch" both photo's should be in one pic now, different programs may use slightly different wording but have a play with your photo editing software that comes with new digital camera's you first need to edit your pic's to the same size as each other before you start to make life a bit easier. sorry if this does not explain too well but im new to this myself.

that looks pretty sweet, ever since I painted my engine bay from black to all white I havent really liked black in engine bays. That motor looks good too, thats a nice balance of bright stuff in there.
