I'm looking to add a power booster to my Wagon. My daughter is determined that she will be driving the old girl "Hilda" to school and I think it may add a little safety factor.

Are they available?
Difficult to fit?
Would it really make braking easier for a skinny girl?

I take that you two are good friends or thick skinned.

Thanks Jim for the link.

i especially enjoyed the high heel shoe bit. Living on the Gold Coast, my daughter is more likely to be braking in thongs (Jandals for u Kiwi).

So do these boosters really make braking significantly lighter?

Ok Kiwi, how come u have one of everything I want?
Wazzup wi dat? Yes, please send me a pic, u know my email address.

Emu,
in short, yes easy to fit, car will stop with less pedal pressure, but if you have not changed the original flexible brake hoses dont bother fitting the booster until you do.

Brake booster will reduce brake effort but will not increase stopping power of the vehicle.  A VH40 remote booster is best and is easily fitted.

There have been a number of threads dedicated to brake improvements and these could be read and are helpful.  I work in the brake industry and can help with any info you need.

Hey Emu
Cheapest way all round is to buy a booster for the FC , and a "good little cheapy" for the daughter  Grin
My daughter goes for her licence test tomorow , if she gets it , we'll have ONE LESS CAR in the yard  Smiley because she'll be in it nearly 20 hrs a day (4 hrs for eating hehe).
Lot less worry on the "Father" too , if she bumps the cheapy , no tears from DAD  Shocked

  Cheers
Norm   (the retired left seat driver , I hope)

(Update) WARNING All NSW Drivers . Daughter just got her "P's" ... :-/ :-/ :-/

That's coz there's more of u here than there!!

Actually, I employ a couple of Kiwis.

I do this to keep my Kiwi bashing skills fine tuned, to practice my sully eksint and coz there's heaps of laughs all day at the dumb things they say.

I know that this desire for an entertaining workplace has huge downside for our economy. The Bureau of Statistics states that for every 1 Kiwi who comes here and gets a job there are 622.4 who come here and go on the dole! I know I should be more socially responsible but I can't help myself.

Emu, the Dominant Flightless Bird

P.S. Are they little Kiwi dollars or huge, fat Aussie dollars for the booster?
