One of the last puzzle pieces for my panel van is to sort out the gearbox crossmember, the old one was some booger welded SHS that had a 5mm wall thickness, and was just bolted to the floor with spacers.
I'd like to do a neater job but I'm reluctant to fork out $1K for a CRS chassis kit when I only really need the rails and crossmember.

Has anyone done a DIY arrangement? Any tips or tricks?

Hey Stinky the CRS rails are pretty easy to copy and I have a couple of there cross members at home that I could take a photo of and show you what they look like.

Thanks Kraka, I have one on my FE Sedan that I can copy. I was mainly fishing for more elegant DIY solutions, I've got a few responses on Facebook so far.
