Hi all, finally getting the FE happening. Does any one know if FJ rubber the same profile as a early 56 FE rubber. Mine is the thin chrome and I don't think the rubber is available for the Special with the thin chrome.

They are different, the FJ rubbers are a “H” section, which means they fit over the body and the screen then fits into the rubber. The FE is an “S” section, which needs both the screen and rubber as well as the moulds to be all fitted together then installed as a complete unit. The FJ screens are smaller than the opening in the body and the FE screen is larger.
Hope this helps.

If you want to have the chrome, get the special rubber and use the large FE/FC moulds. I might have a spare set if you want to go that way.

I think I would prefer to keep the chrome. Be happy to purchase chrome off you if you want to part with it. Thanks.

The club still has a few new standard rear screen rubbers left. Let me know if you need one.

Don’t want to put a spanner in the works, but if you purchased a standard rubber there is no slot for the stainless moulds to fit into. You need a special rubber.

Hi Jim my mistake I didn't mean to type standard I did purchase a special. Just my old man brain can't think of two things at once, just as my wife keeps telling me.

Can relate to that, I get told all the time. She wants to know why I persist with rebuilding mine, I keep telling her it keeps me sane.

I would have a pair of the stainless joiners for the screen trim.
