G'day All,
I came across an oil filter amongst the bucket of parts it has the alloy lid with AC on it no bracket I was just wondering was the bracket a separate part or was it part of the canasta as it doesn't look like any part is broken off? and what colour should it be as its a nice rusty shade of brown  Grin.

thanks

Darren,
It sounds like the one I have.
The bracket is a seperate part with a U bolt. This version was the easiest to fit with my setup.
The alloy top cleans up well with a soft wire brush. I don't think these were ever painted.
I believe the body of these units was grey, similar to the GMH engine colour. I've seen them in a hammer-tone paint.

G'day Darren,

This may help:

If you get stuck for a bracket, Pete reproduces them:
