FC Bench seat with cut out

Why not install a set of bucket seats, it would look a whole better than a seat with the cut out, just my opinion.

 Or why don't you shift the gear selected forward on the gearbox  and keep the seat as original
 thats if your using an aussie four speed

I've seen this modification done to an EK back in the 90s and thought it looked rather good. Any decent trimmer should be able to help. I do love a bench seat but prefer a column auto over floor shift for a semblance of originality. Good luck with it.

If I did do buckets what would be the best kind to fit, as my FC wagon was modified I'm just want something that works and is not going to turn into a big project.

I initially used VC commodore bucket seats in my wagon and they fitted up fairly easy.  Now running VQ statesman buckets as they are a bit more comfortable. I think there are some pics of how I mounted them in my thread in the members completed cars section "Finally underway again....."

This might be a better/easier/cheaper option than modifying a bench. I have one ready to go for one of my cars.

I have a modified front bench seat in my FC Ute, currently running a Celica 5spd.  I'm contemplating going to a column shift trimatic and if I do I'l want an original bench for front.  Maybe a swap oud work?
