Hi ken, actually I plan to sell it after doing some work on it, as per the post ( 58 fc sedan for sale).

#84. Wow. That would have to be from the first or second day of manufacture, wouldn't you reckon, Ken?

Yep, this would have been a dealership display car for the release of the FC.
Shame it can't be traced back.

I'm very interested to know what the chassis number is for the car. It should be quite low.

Would be good if you could get this as well please Graham

Ken, number is 1298429.
Does this fact have any significance? other than a conversation piece for car collectors?

Chassis number is on the engine bay skirt about half way along. Near the wiring loom. It should start with 8 and have 4 numbers followed by maybe an M or an A.

I don't really think it adds value to a car - maybe makes it a little more collectable if the car was to remain stock.

Also, same colours as the vehicle that features on the front cover of Modern Motor.

Ah a Brisbane car - and very early production.
However, there shouldn't be a dash between the 7 and the 8
That would make this car just the 78th FC made at the Brisbane plant.
Chassis numbering started at 1001 while body numbering started at 1.
