There's an empty space in our driveway

The wagon was dropped off at CEVA ready for its lazy trip across the Nullabor.

Our next Nats adventure has begun

Gee that was quick 😮
Only 4 hours instead of 4 (or more) days to cross the Nullabor 😊

(Insert picture of qantas plane here)

Thanks Jordo for picking us up at the airport and taking us to pick up the wagon. Then getting us through Sydney traffic to our hotel

We are here

Hope you still had time to cross  painting  off your list

John & Bette , did you see us waving to you as we went past ?

End of day 1.

Day 2
Got to  sleep in and catch up on some zzzz's 😴 after getting up EARLY 😩 😩 yesterday.
Left Perth, 100°C😈
Arrived in Sydney, 100% humidity😭
Wake up today to 100mm of RAIN 💧

Left Sydney about 10.30am and joined the gridlock of traffic that reminds us why we love Perth.

Cruised to Muswellbrook (or is that Mussellbrook ?... these Eastern staters have a funny language 😉) Had  nice snack at a little place from 1955 tucked away off the main street

Got to add a new line to my map

 Cheesy

Day 3.

Woke up to rain again, but it cleared up for a good day of cruising.

Can you guess which town we stopped at for morning tea ?

We thought we might watch Elvis in his latest movie release at the local flicks.
Apparently it will NOT be in 3D with surround sound 😔

Seeing cool art deco buildings in this condition is like looking at old Holdens rusting away in paddocks. You just hope somebody rescues it before it's too late 😭

Did our FIRST 😊 bit of collectables shopping along the New England Hwy before we stopped for lunch

Cathy wouldn't let me do any busking 😭
(Anybody who has heard me singing " I've been everywhere man" would know why 😉).

Another day and another new line on my map 😆

And another new badge for my hat 😆

Apparently it's St. Paddys Day tomorrow,  so if there is no diary it's because I've drunk too many Guinessessess

G'day fcrb26
I was hoping to catch up with a couple of forum users on the way through. We are in Casino tonight but i can't remember which forum user said to say g'day on the way through. my list of names is on the kitchen table back in Perth. And my ability to use tapatalk on my mobile phone restricts what I can do.
( I'm not even sure how these posts turn out on a computer screen. It all looks different on a samsung phone screen ?!)

Cruised to Muswellbrook (or is that Mussellbrook ?... these Eastern staters have a funny language 😉)

Unlike the sandgropers who pronounce Norseman "Norzmen", Derby "Durrby", Albany "Owlbunny" and so on... Tongue

Day Five

Woke up nice and early feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed 👀
( note to self... drink less coffee 😩... drink more beer 😊 )

Planned to leave Casino and grab fuel in Lismore before cruising through Bangalow to Byron Bay.
WHOOPS !. We forgot to turn left and forgot to get fuel because we were busy discussing how clever the koalas must be

They can read road signs and know where to cross the roads.

Found our first BIG thing on the trip
as we drove into BALLINA.
So we cruised north along the beach to Byron Bay. I would have stopped and gone surfin' if I had my longboard. ( stop laughing Lorene )

Cathy and I visited the most eastern point of Aust.

The wagon has now visited the most eastern point also 😊😃😆

Then back on the Highway, heading North to Surfers.
THEN.. we remembered that we DIDN'T get fuel in Lismore ! So another drive along the beach through Pottsville & Hastings Point.
Then back on the Highway heading North to Surfers.

cruised by Old Blu heading up the Highway

And THEN we had to stop.

To take THIS photo

😆 the wagon has reached Queensland.
( now I only have the Northern Territory to do.   Do we have any forum members in Darwin ?)

Sitting on the balcony of the highrise in Surfers, ejoying the viewand just saw a red & white FC (?) Wagon cruising along the beachfront

Time for bed now. Up early to pick up the Grandkids from the airport.
Just time for hat badges & lines on the  map 😊

the end. And another late night. ( I must learn how to type quicker )

DAY 6
Up EARLY to pick up kids & Grandkids from airport at 6.30am 😩💤.  I wish somebody had told us that NSW & Qld were on different time zones ! Then back to the apartment where Cathy cooked bacon & eggs for everyone ( there's 9 😮 of us now )
The kids get a better view than us from their 17th floor apartment
We're in here
Had a reasonably lazy day walking around Surfers ( everybody was likely to fall asleep if they stopped ). The grandkids LOVED 😃 Ripleys believe it or not.
I chose the restaurant for dinner.
Hard Rock Cafe was already fully booked, so we will have to go there another night ( any excuse to add another hat badge to the collection 😊)
So I chose... Longboards Laidback Eatery 😊 😎.
then had a brief walk along the beachfront ( and watched some strange arty farty interpretive dance thing on the beach.... it just looked like the dancefloor at the end of a drunken wedding reception to me 😕)
Now it's 😴💤💤💤💤💤 time

Goodnight everybody

😎 😎 😎 & Cathy & the kids & the grandkids

End of the first week... Day seven.

Only afew more days before we catch up with everyone in Ttoowwoommbbaa.
Gee the time has flown !

Cruised through Surfers to Seaworld for our first day of Theme parks 😊.

Cathy and I went for bit of a swim

(Those that know me other than "surferboy" will understand this pic 😉)

I have loads of pics of Grandkids, but none of me or Cathy 😟 to post
( O.K. you can stop cheering now )

Just got back from dinner

Where I learnt a few new tricks for our next BBQ 😆

Like how to REALLY burn the snags 😲

And I learnt how not to use chopsticks

Unless you are on diet or have all night to eat your meal.
( a fork was so much easier 😏)

Goodnight.    It' getting late and we're up early for Movie World tomorrow

😎 😎 😎 & Cathy.
