Dr Blake gets his new two tone brown FE tonight on the ABC at 8.30
Shot in Ballarat Victoria for those who will recognise a lot of the scenery.

It was nearly a short lived appearance as the car was stolen from the set compound and luckily found a short time later intact.

You guys wont be impressed with the final scene regarding the fuel economy . In the early days you couldn't travel from town to town without extra fuel unless you could get close to 30 miles per gallon out of your small fuel tank in your old holden. Cheers Haydn

I only skipped through it on iView.  Was episode 2 and only saw a two tone brown FE and a black FJ taxi around the 55 min mark.

Episode 1 introduced the "new" FE at the very end, there were numerous comments about only getting 10 mpg.

It is seen a number of times in episode 2, at the very start then again about mid way then finally at the end.

It will appear regularly during series 4.

There is also a good shot of the blue FC standard wagon which has been a regular in the background, I believe it is owned by someone from the Ballarat early Holden Club.

There is a little more about the car being stolen here: Stolen FE Sedan - looking for a short term replacement

Yeah I had a look through iView as well and also seen the rear end of the Wagon when a "scuffle" was taking place. Is it a FC? I haven't seen the front. The reason I ask is the number plates were GPI... and I have a 57 FE Sedan which was GPR...

Cheers

The blue wagon has FE number plates (GPI 974) but is an FC in real life. Last season it was seen regularly in side profile driving past in the back of the scene. The two tone brown sedan also has incorrect plates. The number is GDR 560 which is an FJ number.
In episode 1 the featured car was a grey and white FC sedan with reg GYT 548. This is its correct reg.
I saw this car sold at Shannon's auction in 1999

I found it interesting this episode they talked about a historical theme park called "Goldfields Park" clearly a reference to Sovereign Hill.
Last week the story was about a rally called "Red Australia Rally" another reference to an actual event - the Redex Rally. They even had a character throwing gelagnite in the rally - a reference to the legendary gelagnite Jack.
