Hi guys,
Today i came across an FC standard sedan in a transport company yard.
I went and enquired about it  and was told that its been there for 7 or 8 years in the weather, and that it belonged to someone that got it moved by this particular company and couldnt pay for it etc etc etc.
For legal reasons they couldnt sell it to other people who have enquired about it before mebut, that was years ago,so im in with a chance.
I had a look over it and surprisingly it is in very good condition.Straight as a die and only surface rust.
The inner sill frame legs are even rust free as is the front subframe and y frame assembly. No rust in boot or floors,in fact i looked over it for about 20 mins and could only see surface rust.I did manage to get all the numbers off of the plate (215)and engine and all seems to be original as far as i can tell. This car has no front of rear glass so u can imagine the interior is basically rip out and start again. But is rolling with engine, gearbox, diff, and all bolt ons, minus chrome and lights etc. There are plenty of specials around so i was wondering if anyone could tell me what it may be worth roughly, bearing in mind it is very straight and virtually rust free.
Here are the plate details (think front subframe may have been replaced due to brissy no. Have no room Roll Eyes

Hi Brad,

As a matter of interest I entered the details in to the excellent ID Plate Decoder that RET created http://www.fefcholden.org.au/techinfo/idinfo.html and it came back with the following:

FC-215-5098-S Vehicle is an FC Standard Sedan, the 5,098th manufactured in Sydney, NSW.

355-638 The Exterior Trim Code (355) describes this car as Single-Tone: Ascot Grey.

The Interior Trim Code (638) refers to: Fall Red.

253-7773 The paint colour is Ascot Grey (in DUCO Lacquer)

FC-22700-B The vehicle was assembled during 1959, and was the 21,700th FC (in any bodystyle) assembled in Brisbane, Queensland.

L579540 Manufacture date (based on engine number) is June 1959

The tool has also sent an email to your hotmail address which includes the above information.

Cheers,

Craig.

I recently picked up a 215 Fc standard sedan for $600 with Red motor , Disc brake front and in Driving condition, But I got a good deal . So Not going , Needing Glass , Needing Trim, and unsighted , id reckon $800 Max , But Id be trying for $500 . Just my opinion. Its very Hard to evaluate a car , UNSIGHTED . Hope this Helps .

Brad, generally a standard is of lower value than a special.

Only a few buyers appreciate the rarity of the standard models and are prepared to pay more for them.
I'm with Slim on this one - $500 would be fair for an incomplete unregd car.
Even fully restored and in pristine condition it would be worth less than a special unless you can kindle the interest of a collector.
