You should be able to get an electronic set up for the original dizzy . A guy borrowed one off me some 20 years ago and never returned it . Haydn

The Vic club has sold dozens of grey electronic conversion kits to our members over the years. We imported the kits from the U.S. I believe. It was such a neat conversion that it could not be detected even on a stock engine. We haven't had them in stock though now for quite a few years. I think they were Pertronic brand?

Hi guys, If you want more background on the Pertronics install and other related discussions then check out this thread (and some of the other links within that thread). Grey motor electronic distributorTo see the install check out this link http://www.mbzponton.org/valueadded/maintenance/ignitionpert/ignitionpert.htm - yep, it is on a Mercedes but they use the same dissy. Couple of things, there is also another manufacturer that sells a similar unit (I think it is by Bosch) that is basically the same. Also, the units really just replace the points/condenser. It does not significantly improve performance. Some people have reported a small increase in power and most agree that their car starts better. Best thing for me is not having to worry about points Trevor_B

I took a good look at the technical side of the Petronix units over on the "other forum": http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=20727(it was supposed to be a magneto thread, but I got distracted ). Agree that most people will see little improvement in performance, though easier starts and less maintenance. Cheers, Harv (easily distracted appreciator of fine ignition products).

Ok , can I get some advice .I need advice on changing from petronix with Fireball XR 700 ignition module to new after market commodore electronic dizzy and ignition module .I get the three wires into the module ,red+ yellow - and black to ground but there is three wires returning to the dizzy ,black, white, grey ,where as the commodore dizzy has only a red wire and a black wire . I think the petronix and the fireball were as a set . Anybody? Cheers Haydn
