Just thought I would throw it out there and ask if anyone has ever grafted the whole floor from a commodore including rear hump and pick up points for the 4 link, and if not would this actually work.
Cheers Frankiej.

I thought about it with the ute, but the pick up points and the geometry for the commodore IRS would need to be reworked as the width of the car. So found it easier to do my own.

One of the earlier volvos might work better cos the track is similar and they have good dana lsd's too. I've thought about Darwin 1600 too, main reason is all the rally developments have produced more aftermarket parts.

Is it an option to use a steering box rather than a rack and pinion, years ago I used HK t g type in fj holdens and wondered if this would work running a v6 cheers.

If u go that way there's a bloke who just deals in those models in Adelaide. I'm going a vl, vk and rear rack. Too hard to get parts for the real old stuff too.

Looks alright to me and a reasonable price. But I am a builder/carpenter so am not qualified to have an opinion on metalwork. I am sure there are other more experienced fabricators on the forum with much better opinions than mine. I would want an engineer to sign off on the compliance before undertaking such a build. Cheers Stewy

i recently put a similar 4 link in a 48 chev. they are good cause you have 3 holes for coilover height adjustment or you can run shockwaves airbags as we did on the 48.

i think these 4 link rears would be way easier to graft in than trying to redesign a commo suspension. we used a chev ten bolt in the 48 and it has a cast pumpkin so i had to shorten the upper links by an inch to make it fit on the axle tube, so as i say it will be easier, but as you would probably know dont ever think this sort of stuff will be simple cause its always a problem solving chase but rewarding in the end
