This is it Brett, the guy who has it now offered to take it away when the order came from above to "scrap that old piece of junk out the back" The one that GMH has was the prototype, this one apparently was the number one production model and there was one other made which is unknown now. Most likely scrapped, but who knows? Laurie, by the way is the guy who owns it. He was a stylist at GMH and did the FE FC horn button design as well as the rear fin design on the FC to name a couple of things. He is a really interesting chap to listen to. He thinks he is saying nothing but the stuff he is saying is priceless! Ken

AFAIK, GMH has restored theirs and it is on display in the Salmon Street office in Melbourne. It's white, and I assume it is the same one all the promo material was made with: http://www.carscoops.com/2009/04/aussie-homage-to-holden-torana-gtr-x.htmlThis thing had a brief turn at being silver in the mid 70's (and had UC Torana wheels) before GMH repainted it white for the resto. The silver one was apparently in the Birdwood Motor Museum in South Australia, then was restored and made a trip to Michigan for the General Motors Technical Center 75 year celebration of automotive design. Not sure if it is still in SA or moved to WA? Wish I could find stuff like that in my shed Cheers, Harv

Is it me, or are they late model Conformadore chaser wheels on the back? They's gotta go... this thing needs a resto. I turned the shed over again... no GTR-Xs hidden away. Just lost bolts, and heaps of NASCO rust . Cheers, Harv

Hey guys....the story of who saved the GTRX is all wrong.....I bought the GTRX from GMH in 1988-9...it was for sale by tender to GMH employees only with one condition of sale, being it would and could not be registered in Australia..my brother inlaw put the tender in for me. I had partnership problems and needed funds so I HAD to sell it....the 2 guys I sold the GTRX to names are Brian & Craig....
