I know I am a bit slow but where can I find more information on the 2014 nationals in Tasmania.  Exact dates, venues etc.?
Thanks Steve.

Hi Steve

The previous thread will provide some detail. The event is always run over Easter every 2 years as you know the next is in Tassie (Hobart). General rule of thumb.
  • Good Friday, registration, move into to your accommodation, clean your car and fish & chip night
  • Saturday, Show N Shine, followed by dinner and quiz or talent night,
  • Sunday, Cruz, picnic lunch, sports challenge followed by Dinner and Awards night
In recent years there have been extra activities organised on the Friday and Monday for those who wish to participate.

Cheers Jim

It's the same weekend as the 2014 Island State Street Rod Nationals (Tassie Nats), according to the Ozrodders Forum...
http://ozrodders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=54060

It'll be a huge weekend in Hobart.

Lucky we have the jump on them.
Perhaps the Sunday cruise could be in the same vacinity as the rod display, ala the Van nats in SA a few years ago.

Thurs 17/4
Complimentary breakfast in Devonport after an over night sailing of the Spirit of Tasmania from Melbourne
Poker Run for those who wish to participate during the drive from Devonport to Hobart.

Friday 18/4
Registration at Royal Hobart Showground from 9am to 3pm
Entrants only day

Saturday 19/4
Shannons Show and Shine at Royal Hobart Showground. (open to public 10am to 5pm)
Tradestands and Go-Whoa on site
Bus trips for entrants to areas of local interest
Evening meal and entertainment.

Sunday 20/4
Rod Run to Tahune Airwalk (approx 90min drive)
Entry fee to Airwalk can be paid at time of entry; lunch will be provided
Evening meal, entertainment and trophy presentation at the Showgrounds.

Monday 21/4
Rod Run to local area of interest (lunch will be provided)
Closure of event

Well it would seem that their show and shine will also be the Saturday, makes it difficult to take in both events.

Looks identical to the rodders one. That mean we are all in one place and the fight for accommodation is greater?

I thought that was the rodders itinerary.  I haven't seen an FE-FC Nats schedule of events yet.

Cheers

Grin Sorry for the confusion....it IS the rodders itinerary.
I thought it might be handy to know what they were doing.
Interesting that there is a plan for the rodders to be on the boat on the 17th,,,,,might make it harder to get on.

The web site will be up and operational very shortly (a big thaks to RET as I am IT challenged) and all info will evolve from there.

However the itinery is the same as previous nationals

Friday - registration day and a short picnic tour
Saturday - cruise to show and shine then dinner and entertainment Saturday night
Sunday -  country cruise and sports trophy events - Sunday night dinner and trophy presentation
Monday - optional tour or free day

regards

Only smoke signals and tins linked together with string available down here - and that's after that new-fangled broadband roll out.
