The interesting thing about the Tom Thumb is that the box is 50's, but the model car is 80's.
Someone came across the boxes all printed up with the moulds and then set about making the cars to fill the boxes. Apparently back in the 50's, GMH did not approve the final model and thus did not give the go ahead on the license, thus no production.

I have one of these and mine has the car in it, unbuilt and still in the bag. I will post some photos later, if you're interested?

Yes I remember at Bendigo swap meet in the 80's buying a handful of the cars in the boxes for about $20 each. They were good value.

Cool little models. That's something else to keep an eye out for at the next swap meet.

Cheers
