Heh guys Thought i would put some photos up of my car that is finally on the downhill run after a long stay in the wilderness. It was taken off the road in 2005 for a engine deatil and it went from there, health problems for the guy that was doing it and then we decided we would do the chrome and underneath etc etc. Anyway after a coat of paint it returned to my shed in Monbulk in Jan 2011 and we are getting it back together. It has not been at a nationals since Adelaide in 1999 and the plan is for it to go be ready in October for my sons grade 6 graduation and then to Perth in for the nationals 2012. We will live in hope!! Still lots to do but a small idea of what we are up too. Regards Brett

Brett,
She looks a treat, I see the FB seat material and I know part of the story about your car, perhaps you'd like to tell us about it and the other FB paint and trim "prototypes" GMH built?

Here here, this is an important car, not just because Brett is doing a beautiful job but as John has reminded us of it's unusual features
I'm looking forward to seeing this car if we get to make it to WA, so keep up the good work and fill us in about it

WOW its probably better than brand new! I am sure the paint is.....I was stripping mine back today and the paint was so thin, even the undercoat in parts, you have put asnother one back on the road in fine fashion.
Cheers
Deano.

Heh Thanks John and Gary, the car has been mentioned on here before and i am sure their are people going "not again". Anyway the car is a original 1 owner car that i purchased in 1994, in Hawthorn here in Melbourne. The car is a GMH Factory SPECIAL bulid and has SPEC on the firewall ID plate. It is one of 2 known cars the other being sighted from up Sheperaton way many years ago. The car is a prototype in that it is FB colors, Corona grey and Artic White, it has FB trim and FB door cards a few FB other odditties and 1960 Chevrolet star headlining. It is a lovely car to drive and my favorite and hence the patience in getting it back together. The car was bought brand new from Rhodes motors in Sth Melbourne and the previous owner was a mechanic who liked the different color! As we make more progress i shall put up some more photos, take care. Brett

Hey Brett You must be really stoked with the result....looks fantastic. I always love seeing the interior. Also love all the accessories. What is the device in the engine bay beneath the RH hinge? Washer pump? I have not seen anything like it before. Looking forward to seeing your car once again. Regards Alex

Alex It is a washer pump electric and was used on FB Ek a retro fit I believe. The photos are a bit dodgy as it was late last night and getting a bit dark and the flash etc made it a bit light but it will do It looks better in the flesh shall try and get some better shots this weekend! Thanks Brett
