Mag Wheel Offsets

Hi

I have fitted a Pat Gardiner V6 conversion to my FC sedan and am running VR suspension and running gear.

I am looking at fitting 15 x7 inch 5 Spoke Chrome wheels all round. Could I fit 8's.....even on the back ?

I haven't flaired or tubbed it and it is slightly lower all round.

Have any of you guys that have done the V6 conversion got any advice on offsets for the wheels, or do I need spacers ?

I'm working in Bowen at the moment and my car is a 3000km round trip away to run the tape measure over it, but I want to order my wheels and other bits so I can get stuck into it when I return home for Xmas.

Any comments would be appreciated.

You can fit 15x8's under the back - I've got them under my FC.

With that said, the car is running a Chrysler Centura rear end, the guards have been flared, and the wheels are custom offset.

Mine is a shortened Commodore diff, but without the flairs so I'll stick with 7"s I think.

What are you running up front and what are the offsets?

You can fit 17"x 7 1/2'' rims with 235 x 45 tyres  on the rear [Boyd etc etc ] do this size outers with no rubbing even with 5 people in the car with no modification , I run 17"x7" on the front with 110mm backspace HQ stubs VL turbo 297mm front rotors and lowered 2" .....FC427...

The correct way to do this is to get your wheels first and then set them up in the wells so that you can get the optimum position. Then you measure the distance between the mags and this is the length you make the diff.
Now that you have a diff already shortened, you will have to try various offset mags to get the right one for your car. You may even end up having to get a custom offset like Olgirl 58 in order to make them fit.
Do you know what the Commodore diff was shortened to? Was it to the same length as original offset or a little shorter like Centura or Torana- this is important information to know as it affects what style of wheel you can have.
