you were saying grey is not a colour well  it looks great on my car and no it is not undercoat or primer. At least if I get a scratch it still looks grey as it does not show up as much.

If black is the abscence of colour and white is all colours combined, does that mean grey is half a colour?   :-/

As Craig has said - I have over 1000 cars on record and a simple search of each colour would give a ratio of what colour scheme is the most popular of what is remaining.  The problem lies with what RET has indicated.  A lucky find showed an entire 4 years of sales by a dealership in country Victoria which showed that the ratio of cars sold by colour when new, differs greatly to my data of what is left.  This led to my theory that (in general) the guys who looked after there cars very well to the extent that they survive today were conservative people who always garaged, always cleaned always serviced etc.  The logic then extends that conservative people also bought conservative colours such as grey and white which abound today although were not as common when sold in the 50's compared to the 2 tone blues and greens etc.

Does this help?   Ken

Ret,

heuristic evidence?

Huh

Evidence based on previous findings rather than explicit proof.

eg: When people believed the earth was flat, they really only had heuristic evidence that the sun would come up again tomorrow.  It came up yesterday and the day before, so it will come up tomorrow.

See http://www.bartleby.com/61/96/H0179600.html if you really want

Hope that helps Wink
