Hey guys, just having some issues with my wipers. Fitted the arms on today, switched them on, the driver side works perfectly, the passenger side wiper arm only comes up halfway and then goes smacking down across the bonnet. Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated, thanks FC Mikey

I had the same problem, remove the wiper arms and put some masking tape on to indicate their positions so you don't do any more damage, then play with the alignment of the linkages at the wiper motor. The linkages need to be "out" a little if that makes sense, if not let me know and I'll take a picture.

Isn't it just a matter of removing the passenger side wiper arm and replacing it higher up at the right spot?
This would then have it wiping the screen right up to the top of the screen and not down onto the bonnet

No Ken I wish it was that simple. When the 'pivot mount' for the drivers side is in the park position and ready to come up, the 'pivot mount' on the passenger side is still moving down. I do think that Stinky has it right here and that the linkages at the motor need some adjustment, although they seem to be correctly positioned  Huh Undecided . I'll have more time to tackle this tomorrow (fingers crossed). Stinky if you could upload a pic it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks guys, FC Mikey

I think if you have the wiper arms back to front, it causes this??

my memory is hazy but initially my wipers did this and I fixed it by switching the linkage around...

i forget the thread I posted in, but it was definitely a simple fix.

Cheers

Are we talking about original vacuum wipers or EK electric wipers?

Vacuum wipers are pretty hard to get wrong

Electric wipers will do this if you are missing the second small arm

I found that when I wired mine correctly and they went to the park position I had more or less the same problem (it's been a while so I can't remember if both blades went onto the bonnet or only one).
I found that the arm that is on the threaded shaft coming out of the wiper motor was upside down.
The arm headed towards the firewall instead of away which made getting the nut for the linkage on a real problem.
Just screwed the arm off turned it over and screwed it back on.
Still had to shim it a bit to get it in the right position. Hope this helps.

Cheers guys, fixed the wipers, they work a treat. The short linkage was connected to the wrong arm...(knock knock knock, HELLO, MACFLY).

Thanks to all for your advice.    FC Mikey
