Some questions you can help with - all for my FE:

I need to put new brake shoes on - I have a set of 4 new ones but are front and back the same? If they are different how do you tell? Who sells them if I need to buy more?

I need to get some seals - front crank seal, fuel pump seal, rear half shaft seal and shifter seal gear box - I am probably better off just making them or are there specific spares available for these?

I am replacing the front engine mount - should I replace the rear as well - are there only 2 mounts?

There is a steering bar - not sure what to call it - steering linkage bar? - can I get new ones of these and where?

The front drivers side suspension spring has broken near the top - can't really notice the sag but can you get replacement springs?

Sorry if I have called any of these the wrong names but I am no expert, point out corrections if they are obvious, thanks.

Cheers,
 Cool

Paul, just a quick reply as I've got to duck out for a few hours.

From my GMH master parts catalogue it lists FE/FC "Shoe and Lining set ( 2 wheels )" as part no 7425357
and same in bonded as 7420573 so I'd guess according to that front and rear are the same as there is no reference to individual numbers for front and rear although there is a reference for primary shoe 7408941 and secondary shoe 7408951 but I'd say these two numbers would be to order these shoes individually if required.

Some here will know for sure whether thats right or not.

Most brake places should still do bonded shoes on an exchange basis, but Rares have them if you have trouble. Same front and rear, available standard or O/S.

I need to get some seals - front crank seal, fuel pump seal, rear half shaft seal and shifter seal gear box - I am probably better off just making them or are there specific spares available for these?

http://www.rarespares.net.au or http://www.americanautos.com.au

I am replacing the front engine mount - should I replace the rear as well - are there only 2 mounts?

One front, two rear. The front one gets soaked in oil and fails but best to do all three. Web purchase as above.

There is a steering bar - not sure what to call it - steering linkage bar? - can I get new ones of these and where?

The 'drag link' has a rebuild kit available and you can buy this an new idler arms from Rares/Amercian Autos.

The front drivers side suspension spring has broken near the top - can't really notice the sag but can you get replacement springs?

Someone here will have an old set of originals, but you can get replacement springs from auto parts shops over here but not sure if they do them in standard height.
