I was browsing the internet and came cross this photo that appears to be some sort of fresh air duct that goes from the Radiator Support Panel to the firewall next to the cowl vent. I have never seen one before and thought that it may have been a WarmaRide heater. I checked the AOTW and the illustration tindicates that it is not that. Does anyone have any idea.

I've never seen one before either - I'm guessing it's homemade, but a lot of work gone into it.

How about a photo of the whole car? Those guards look dam straight and in black too. That "fresh air duct" may be an indication of the effort put into the rest of the car

that is neat if it was home made, look at the bit were the overflow pipe is.

Interesting heater.
Never seen this set up before either.
I have seen adverts for similar arrangements for non electrical heaters that use either the air passing through the radiator or from the engine fan.
This heater appears to use both methods. Air passing through the radiator is forced into the car by the engine fan, which is shrouded for efficiency.
Looks like a neat set up.

Looking closely, there seems to be a flap that can be opened or closed 3/4 of the way along.

its a great idea. but wouldn't it only feed the drivers side by the looks  of it?
the trouble i had making a heater  (datsun 120 y  guts just to p*ss people off)
was interesting.
this could be an easy way for a demister
wouldn't do it myself but i love something different
