hi, i am looking at buying a set of triple carbys su's for red 186, was wondering if the manifold had to be a certain vintage (pre hr Huh?).have heard later versions may need mods to the firewall of my fc, is this true, is this true Grin

Look for a manifold that has the two end runners slightly angled or dog-legged towards the centre.. this type will be much easier to fit without major firewall work. You might still have to do a little work on the seam tho..  From memory I think the Warneford manifolds had the offset runners, as well as some of the other brands. There was one on Ebay not long ago (offset) I think was Lynx..
