Welcome to the board.
WOW!!! Where has that been hiding for the past 40+ years. Great find.
Sorry, can't help with the info you requested, I will leave that to Guru Ken.
As a matter of interest, I thought these NEW shells had an ID tag that just had the part number stamped into them. Ken, can you help us with this also?

Regards
Alex

Thanks Guys,
It's a find and a half allright lots of parts needed but i do have a sedan which has kindly offered its body parts and running gear, big slog ahead. I look forward to hear from Ken, the car has no ID tags at all which is kinda sad, it will make it real hard to trace the date of birth.
cheers

Muzz what state are you in?  It sounds like a van I saw at Ballarat swap this year.
It also had no ID tag.
The owner had a NOS subframe for it as well but parted it out separate in the end.

However - all new shells had a tag with a part number on them.  I have one in my collection.

Otherwise traceability by GMH could not be maintained.

Mick Koetsier in QLD also has a NOS windowless van shell which he is building.

Hi Ken,
I'am in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, It's the same one you saw at Ballarat I saw it there as well but only got hold of it a few weeks ago so yep no ID tags, Would you also know how many panel vans were produced in the FC/FE range, just a bit of information i would find interesting.

Cheers, Muzz..

Muzz, approximately 4800 FE's and 12000 FC's.  The highest FE body number I have is 4784 (April 1958) and the highest FC body number I have is 10192 (Dec 1959)

This gives an all up total of about 16800 Vans.
All vans left the factory windowless, some even left the factory without even the rear window!, but most over the years had side windows fitted by either dealers or home mechanics.
