Hi out there,
I'm getting closer to putting my fe sedan on the road & was wondering can it be registered as a 6 seater (with seat belts) as original rego papers i have say it is a 5 seater.

Hi Cooky,
When Jan & I were young we allways thought the front seat was able to accomodate three persons!!
Now we realize that the front seat only fits two  Huh
The back seat allways seamed comfortable (back then),   from memory !!!!!   I think it accomodates three sitting up.
You do pose a good question

I believe that a front bench seat was to accomodate three people, and that a vehicle with a front bench seat was always classed as a 6 seater.  I am sure that is the way up here, maybe different in other states.  That is according to the different registration laws.

According to the Sales Brochure, room for 6 passengers:

I've never heard of a Holden with bench seating and column shift being limited to only 2 in the front.  An Austin A30, maybe...

cheers

I would have thought the "legal" seating capacity be based on seatbelts?
In SA there is no requirement to fit seatbelts, I guess you'll need to check with local rego authorities.
