I am not to sure what my preference would be. I think you need to loose the flappers and see how that looks.
I think there needs to be some black between the rim and the whitewall, at the moment the flapper over powers to look of the rim.
Just my thoughts.

Gee nice flappers mini I think it looks pretty good, but i may think you have the same problem at the moment that I have . The tyres are maybe a bit too small. Im about to by radials on the same size as crossplys I used to use. All the same thougnh it looks pretty good. Do you think that it would look better if you could see more black aftre the whitewall?? I reckon side and rear venetians would also make it blend in quite good too, Cheers Tayz |

;)i reakon it looks grouse with the dragways and flappers,and im not a big fan of dragways but i must say it does make a hell of a difference,just a bit lower,some venetions,and some dummy spots and it would be starting to look real custom....maybe even a visor?? cheers jamie

Very pretty car Mark. As Tayz said, the tyres are too small for the bulk of the car as you have it set up. This is a problem with early Holdens and most old cars these days; that is the relationship between the overall wheel and tyre height and body height doesn't work with low profile tyres ( not taking into account the disastrous impact on the already short gearing they have with a 3.89 diff). Cars look their best and most dynamic if the wheel/tyres dominate or are a significant part of the car height. If you look at modern cars, the best looking of them have are very tightly drawn over a large wheel and tyre combo, think any BMW and the new Commodore for example. Its no different with early cars, for an old Holden that hasn't been chopped, sectioned or lowered to the point of being undriveable, reducing the overall wheel/tyre height makes them look odd, they look dumpy, if you look at the original photos they don't look dumpy at all, they look light on their feet. We are planting modern design on old design and unless it is done very carefully, we can muck it up. Wider wheels and tyres are nice, provided they are about the same overall size as original, it preserves the proportions - IMHO of course If you must - wider wheels with tall tyres, for stockies this means 80 section tyres will make it look a treat, not only that it will drive properly. Old Holdens were not designed for radials, let alone low profile ones Cheers John |

The low photo looks realy good minifc , I think if the car sits right on the rim it will look best but it looks like you wont be able to drive it like that . Venetians would look good too.
