I don't think it 's genuine GMH . I have never seen one before and I have been mucking around with Holdens for over 30 years. The lion icon looks Blobby ?  and there is no GMH stamping anywhere on the item.
GMH were proud to put there mark on their products.
The workmanship looks shody and not the sort of thing I would expect from GMH fifty odd years ago.
I might be wrong but thats my 2 bobs worth.
       Brad.

Ps my missus just came in and saw this post and she reckons it's just not right . She suggests you compare it to the grill badge on a HT prem given the stance on the lion as it's somewhat similar (more upright) . Or look at earlier horn button or hub cap. It just doesn't look the same.

This keyring was my Grandfathers, and he was a GMH employee at the Elizabeth plant in SA.

I also have a deck of cards with the FX grille badge emblem on them, and other pieces from over the years.

I cant imagine him buying stuff like that, so I had good reason to believe it had come from GMH.

Can anyone else shed some light on this one?  Huh

I've seen that badge (the central disc) set into other key-ring fobs.  Is the circular disc a separate piece glued (or otherwise fixed) to the backing?  The fob looks like a very generic design to suit 1" discs.
The playing cards appear on Ebay from time to time.  Neither were GM-H / Nasco originals, but they're period and quite sought after.

cheers

Thank you Brad & Ret for your replies.

Yes Ret, the circular disc is a separate piece, and must be glued, because nothing shows through on the back.

And Brad, It was the blue triangular shape around the lion, which made me think it was of more FE/FC vintage
than anything else.

Gday Brad

I appreciate the sentiment in your comment.

Its not like, this is the only thing I have to remind me of dear ol Gramps.
I do have some of the things he loved and treasured, as have others in the family.

This keyring was just something laying around in the back of the 'assorted stuff' drawer in his kitchen.

Im not being disrespectful or greedy for profit.
