I have a 138 + Stromberg and saw a cable type accelerator cable for the stock motor offered by rares
(KHC003) Any know much about using this instead of the connecting rods? is it reliable?

I don't know about the Rares conversion, but you could probably save yourself a heap of dough by DIY. There was a thread on the FB/EK forum to do a L300 cable conversion and it uses the original pedal.

Ive got to fix the accelerator linkage cos it has a hard spot you have to push past causing the wagon to jump forward if youre not careful. Ive got a 350 Holley on the 202 red motor with the original linkage.
does anyone have details and pictures of the L300 cable set up I can show to a mechanic who can set it up for me ( at $70/hr it needs to be quick and simple)

 Cool Cool Cool

I did mine myself with the one from Rares and it cost me 4 beers for labour (had to pay myelf and was short on cash) Gee I'm cheap. It was easy, came with instructions and is reliable.

Rares might be the best bet, I am not sure about WA but it seems L300 cables are in short supply over here in SA  Cry

Later? can't get much earlier than mine and it works. It is universal type which has mounting brackets to suit different types of carbs. I guess it would suit a holley as they are not exactly uncommon.

Not sure if you have this sorted but there is a mob in Myaree (cant recall the name) that I used for a couple of custom cables in my car.  Happy to dig out the detail if still needed.

Cheers
