Paul conned me into making him a 350 to grey motor manifold so i knocked one up from stainless then bead blasted it to look like cast alloy. I really enjoy these custom 1 offs But this will be the last for a while till my cars done. Im unsure how it will perform but i made everything nice and smooth inside tigged everything up so it looks pretty. Should be nice and strong as well. Weld bosses under the holes. I had to cut a 6mm alloy spacer as the throttle bkt on both sides of the butterfly clipped the manifold face. (made sense to me) This one shows my gun tig welds on the flanged also tigged inside. Then faced the flanges off so it will seal perfect.

The other day I tried tigging some .8mm butted up without using filler. I got no foot pedal though.

There is an original cast dual throat manifold on eBay at the moment, no where near as good looking as yours. Jim

It will make me very happy. Thanks Pete. And they say you can't run a 350 holly on a Grey.

That one has the carby the other way so I would need a cable to operate it. The one Pete made I can use the accelerator rod. Kerry Park suggested the carby sit that way aswell. It should go well!

Got a link to the eBay manifold?
Sounds like the eBay one is mounted with the fuelbowl in the east/west orientation (facing the mudguards), whilst Pete's puts the fuelbowl north/south (facing the radiator). The fuelbowl on the 350 Holley carburettor is of the center-pivot type. Running a north/south orientation (like Pete's) is best for speedway, gymkhana or road racing where fuel sloshing is from side-to-side. In drag racing applications, the front-to-back sloshing of fuel (and lifting of the nose of the car) can cause this type of float to not operate as effectively unless the east/west orientation is used. This is amplified if meth is used, as the fuelbowl holdup time is effectively halved (the engine thinks the fuelbowl is half the size of a petrol one).
Cheers, Harv

Looks like a standard mani modified. It's also not a 350 it's something else.

Looks more like a Falcon Weber. The mild steel to cast iron weld must have been an interesting one to do.

Brett ( Sonic Injection ) is a good guy, very friendly and also loves grey motors. He is working on a turbo kit for the grey.
