My new engine has developed a major loss of power which I think is electrical.Just wondered what everyone else thought. I was driving it last night (yes in the pouring rain) when it developed a major loss of power at low speed. This continued until I finally stalled the car once I restarted it it was fine.
So I am a little confused.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Graham

hi graham, have you had a look at your coil?
i had a similar problem with an old EH after spending money getting carb rebuilt, tuning, etc, turned out to be a faulty coil.

Hi Dean,
Is there a method of checking the coil and can it be an intermitant thing?
Cheers,

Graham,

If it happened in the wet it is more than likely a tracking problem whereby the secondary ignition circuit (coil/cap/leads/plugs) was arcing through carbon or moisture to ground. This is commonly either a crack in the dizzy cap, or in the coil tower. It could be lots of things, but look here first.

Good Luck,

Craig.
