hello i would like to know what ratio diff centre i have to use for fe ute .i am running 202 3 speed all syncro  and 13 inch wheels. plus what  color speedo drive to make speedo read true . thanks .all info appreciated.

to match your standard speedo,or to get better hi way cruise speed,as its a very loaded question you ask.gearbox in 3 and 4 speed holdens FX to WB are all 1 to 1 final drive

I would think 3.36 would be good for you.  Start with yellow speedo gear and work from there.

EH (possibly EJ?) onwards, not sure when they stopped.  3.36 ratio diffs aren't hard to get.

Similar Question here guys, what would I need for an EK running 186 and trimatic  to get reasonable highway and still good driveability around town(majority of time)??
Been told find a 3:55 and also told try 3:36 any help?
and what colour drive yellow as well??

Hi Matt,
I have an FB with 186 - Trimatic and am running a 3.36 diff. Good off the line torque and not high revving on the freeway. I'm using a light blue (25T) gear because my speedo has been re-callibrated in the past and still  reads fast. With a standard speedo a yellow gear would be about right if you've got 65 series tyres.

I run a 202 trimatic in an EK with a 3.36 diff ( from HQ) and 13 inch wheels which gives good acceleration and cruising. 
I am considering running 3.08 to give more relaxed highway cruising when keeping with the traffic at 110kph.  
IMHO a 3.55 ratio is too short with 13 inch wheels.

the 2.78 and 3.08 are the only diffs suitable for a trimatic and 13 inch wheels the next step down is the 3.36 and sitting at 100kmh it revs at 3100rpm which is far too hi for hiway cruising this is why i have posted an ad in parts wanted on forum as my car just sucks the juice as soon as i go on the hiway.if you are going to tow a caravan or heavy trailer regulary the the 3.08 is best ratio for trimatic.

Thanks guys, one of the reasons for the red conversion was to tow a van so looks like the 3.08 may be the go!
