Hi,

As the subject heading says!Anybody able to help?

Stainless trim must have no dings.

Regards Mark.

sgo

Is that the same as the FC trim ???
If the answer is yes and your in Victoria I can help?

mcl1959

there are 2 types of FE rear window moulds - 1956 and 1957/8

The 56 ones are narrow and 4 piece (+ 4 joiners) , the 57/8 ones are wide and 2 piece (+ 2 joiners)

Sorry to hi jack this thread with another question, but car you get a window rubber to suit the smaller strip?
Cheers,

Thanks for the responses.

Sgo I think mcl 1959 has answered your question,I am after the 1956 trim.

Graham you have raised a good question can anybody answer about the rubber?

The rear window stainless is the only part I am missing but I do have a spare set of demister vents which I will part with for the right stainless trims!

I believe the rubber is not available - so it is difficult to keep original 56 look. I have a 1956 set of rear window chrome if you can still use your original rubber. You wont really know if your rubber is OK until you take it out. If you dont intend to take the rubber out, then it should be OK. I just repaired and reattached the 56 rear window trim on my FE, so it can be done.  Check with SGO first to see if he has 56 chrome as he was first to reply.

I have heard (maybe a tale) that the paint caustic stripping process actually rejuvenates old rubber. Not sure about Vic but there is a place in SA - www.minuspaint.com.au
