3  Technical Board / General Technical / Need Help: Self Park on 2 speed wipers with a VT Comm stalk on: January 18, 2021, 02:51:07 PM
Hi all,

I am after any wiring gurus who also know there way around relays etc.

This is what I am trying to do.

I have a Castlemaine Auto Electrics 2 speed wiper motor in my FJ ute and FJ van. I am wanting to run the VT wiper stalk with the wipers.

I can get everything to work except for it to self park.

Now this is where I need some help. How the self park mechanism works as far as I know is that when the wiper stalk is turned to the off position what happens is the park wire on the stalk goes live which then allows the park mechanism to activate at park the wires. I dont think the wiper stalk as a wire for park, so I would most likely need a wire from a relay to go live when the stalk has been switched off.

I don know how to get the park wire to go live when the stalk is moved to the off position.

Now for some diagrams

This is the wiper motor pinout

This is the wiring diagram for the VT stalk. There is only 3 wires that I do not have connected - one is a wire for a wagon and the other is a green wire (which I am led to believe goes to an intermittent wiper relay? and a white and blue wire.

Any thought how I can make a wire on this switch go live when it is turned off (even if the wire is coming from a relay??

Thanks
Jason

6  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / 2 speed electric wipers - Preslite on: October 14, 2019, 07:53:32 PM
I am having a clean out of all my old car parts that I no longer need. These have just been sitting in a box.

For Sale is a Preslite wiper motor for FE - EK.

This was originally bought from Ken Mclean a number of years ago and has been sitting in the box ever since.

The postage mark on the box is dated 30 03 2010.

I thought the fair thing is to offer it on this site first before I offer it for sale anywhere else.

The pictures indicate the condition of the parts.

I am after $180 for it.

Will only post if buyer arranges postage.

Pickup in Melbourne (Essendon area)
7  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: After 12 volt grey motor parts on: January 15, 2015, 10:29:55 PM
I have 4 FJ Holdens and own fxfjholden.com as most people I know. I wont want to part with the 6 volt stuff as my stock windowless van is 6 volt.

The stock sedan I want to convert to 12 volt, I just want it for the ease. Over the years the car not starting when warm, has always been the biggest pain in the backside.

Cheers

19  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / For Sale 4 x ROH HQ rims (brand new) on: May 18, 2011, 06:43:10 PM
Hi all,

I have 4 x (ROH) HQ steel rims for sale. These wheels are brand new. I bought them a few years ago for one of my projects, but I don't need them as I now have a different wheel setup on my FJ van.

I also have 3 other HQ rims which are in good condition but aren't new.

If anyone is after some HQ rims, send me an email to jason @ fxfjholden.com with an offer.

The rims are in Sydney / Wollongong area. When I had some HT wheels modified for my EK, I had them couriered to Wagga (from Central Qld and Geelong) and from memory they didn't cost much to have couriered. So if you are not from Sydney/Wollongong or Canberra have a look at e-go.com.au couriers for a rough price.

Make and offer, I want them gone, I will try and add some pics in a few days when I take the tyres off.

Cheers

Being from Canberra, have to laugh, I'm a country Victorian boy born and bred, and currently in Sydney, better change my location.

The guy asked the question and I answered it for him. By the way internet etiquette says posts should not be in capitals.

I was not going to correct you but I have to (being a country Victorian Boy and meeting Humphrey some 30 years ago or was it 35 cant recall) it is actually Humphrey B. Bear. As for Humphrey being real, of course he is, isn't he?

Back on the term FX, I know of a few myths how the name came about, especially the one when around when the FB was released that some called the 48/215 "FX" because it was the only Holden without a F prefix and they didn't know what other prefix to give it so they gave it a X for unknown model.

I'm sure on this forum the naming designation has been discussed before how Holden came up with FJ, FE, FC FB etc, as it was a chart to do with year of release etc, (which Holden did not release the car in that year) from memory and memory only I think the chart has the FJ as about 1952, but the FJ wasn't released until October 53 and finished (with the vans and utes early 57 (but classed as 56 models)).

Anyway on a side note, what a funny old fellow was Humphrey anyway.
