1  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Stedi Lights on: February 28, 2025, 03:48:21 PM
I have put Bangin Headlights in my EK ute they are great, local made in Perth, direct replacement and you don't need to worry about amperage or anything of the like, quite a few of us over here and some of the SA guys that attended the FB EK Nats last year have fitted them.

Do you think they would fit in the FC head light cone? look alot deeper than the Stedi ones

I like the idea of the DRL also being another indicator as well

Heyo,

Has anyone put these into thier FE/FC?

https://www.stedi.com.au/stedi-7-inch-iris-chrome-led-headlight-pair.html

its a 7" light? I am guessing a decent alternater upgrade would be needed over the ole generater

5  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Wheels that fit on: December 29, 2024, 11:19:38 PM
Heyo,

So I have an old rim with a cross ply tyre on it(came with the wagon, same colour too), back face to inside rim lip is about 95mm, back spacing. Now from what I can gather, backspacing is a good overall idea of what will fit and not interfer with the inner suspension and hopefully clear the drums, outer guard is a different problem.

Trying to find a wheel that will fit the stock front end, with stock drum brakes and I wonder how much back space I can have before things start rubbing?

Does anyone have experience with 15x6" superlites? would 100mm backspacing still fit?

Wanted to try 15" because there are a few more options out there for tyres, 14" seems to be worse than 13" for choice.

My guess is I will just have to suck it and see. I have done a fair bit of google fu, but the older these cars get, seems like there is less info available and inside knowledge the go.

Cheers

Ok, I know this is an old thread.....but.....I am still working on the doors LOL,

I finally found some motivation to get back working on the car.

So I am on the drivers rear door, the dividing metal channel that keeps the rear quater glass in place and holds the felt channel for the window glass is pretty much rusted out.

Can this be replaced? if so, where the hell do you get it?

I have searched Rare spares and Betta Rubber for it, no joy.

Any pointers?

G'day Ogggz,

Where are you located at?

I have a an EK front bench seat you are welcome to, for free. It's located in Sydney, so not sure how close to you. It has tears in the trim and the drivers seat springs have collapsed like most seats. A neatly folded towel under the driver, and a car seat cover or blanket over it and it is driveable.

It is not pretty, but it comes at the right price.

Keep your chin up. Most of us have gone through similar dramas at some stage. If it was easy, then everyone would drive one  Smiley

Cheers,
Harv

Hi Harv, sorry for my ignorance, are FC/EK front seats interchangable?

If so, yes sir I am very interested, I am on the gold coast but Sydney is only 9hrs away now and I can round trip that easy.

Thank you
O

Hello,

I know I have posted about this in the past.

I appologise to the man who tried to help me, at the time my wife would not let me spend the $$$, twice, I gave you the worst run around, I have tried to message and call you to appologise. Once again, sorry mate.

I am sure, I am not the only man/woman here to have been in that situation before.

Pls let me start from the begining, I gave my seats, with two small rips, which I wish I had just ignored and covered with covers. but, I gave them to someone who was recomended by someone I trusted. This person ended up becoming a junkie to the local ice epidemic and I lost my seats.

5-6 years later, seats for a FC wagaon are like rocking horse shit, unicorn poop, winning lotto tickets....

I would seriously be happy with a front seat, bear frame, anything that I can then give to someone I now trust to recondition. A 3 seater is preferable to walking past my garage every day seeing my baby just waiting.

If anyone here has any bead, line, contact.....anything to help me find some seat/seats, please, let me know.

I am entering the space of being tempted to sell my wagon from shear dispare at my situation. I really dont want to but I am running out of will.

Please help

13  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / FC Wagon Seats WANTED on: February 11, 2021, 08:07:15 PM
Ok, I'll keep this brief,

Gave my seats to an upholsterer and 4 years later I will never get them back, Drugs happened, seats are considered gone Sad been trying to get them back for 3.5 years....I have finally given up, apparently they still exist and he still knows where they are, I will just never know

I need some seats for my wagon, I plan to get them redone to a more comfortable arrangement for my bony ass to sit on so condition is not super important.

I live on the gold coast, happy to drive a distance.

PM me if you have a lead or can help.

Cheers
Jemahl

edit: wagon is a standard if that makes a difference

15  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: 1/4 VENT RIVET on: February 07, 2021, 05:48:23 PM
Thanks Nick, having the same issue with my rear spares kit, good friend of mine works for Betta Rubber and says there are two size's, slightly bigger one is supposed to fit the FJ 1/4, the rivets I have in the rear spares kit are .25" at the middle diameter, the rivet taken out is .225... only .025 but its enough.

We are going to compare my old kit(maybe 3-4yrs) to what they have at Betta

Lets hope all the dust protected it and is not hiding to many surprises!

Good luck mate!

That was the point  Grin
18  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Glass Weather Strips on: March 04, 2017, 12:01:18 PM
I am really struggling with this. doesn't matter what i use as a lever, the metal that the holes are in just bends.... I have managed to only get 1 clip to actually "pop" in, and then it fell out. I think it may actually be the clips? but I cant tell.

And well, this is the final result, too much fiddling with the damn strip and its warped and bent and clips are loose.

So, if there is anyone willing to come and give me a hand with tools or expertise, I live on the gold coast.

For anyone who would like to help, I can offer beer and BBQ as a reward Smiley

19  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Glass Weather Strips on: February 26, 2017, 05:40:35 PM
what kind of grease do you recommend? lithium? axle? silicone?

wooden wedge? put both strips in place then force a wedge down in?

yeah clips seem high, but if they where any lower there wouldn't be a lot for them to grip on.
