1  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / FOR SALE: CUSTOMISED WA plates: "GMH FC 58" on: September 21, 2009, 12:40:35 AM
Recently purchased my beautiful 1958 FC, who was already wearing these plates, but have my own ideas about what she should wear. The plates have red lettering on a white background, they are acrylic, slim-lines, but can be altered to suit your own vehicle's specifications.

If you are interested, email me at fredaturtle@live.com.au

Cheers,

Lana
2  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Mystery holes in FC dash - can anyone tell me what belongs here?? on: August 31, 2009, 04:25:18 PM
Hi Zulu

Yeah could be a cooling fan.....

The hole pattern from your pic is different to what's on my dash (mine are diagonal all in a row - not triangle formation as in your diagram)

I never thought of a fan ... I thought it might be a badge (Huh??)

Anyway, any other ideas or posts would be appreciated!!

cheers

3  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Mystery holes in FC dash - can anyone tell me what belongs here?? on: August 31, 2009, 01:59:21 PM
Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows what used to belong on my FC's dash.  There are 3 diagonally drilled holes just above the glove box and to the left side of the speaker grill.  Central hole is slightly larger then the other two.  Looks like it's for a  badge / signage but I'm not sure.

Any ideas or if your FC has something there, can you please let me know (post a pic if you can!!)

cheers

Mutley

4  Technical Board / Restoration Help / It's raining and my FC leaks!! on: June 29, 2009, 09:18:22 AM
I bought a '58 FC wagon a few months ago (when it was blue skies and warm sun ... great driving weather).  Anyway, now it's raining like all hell and my FC leaks like a sieve.  There's heaps of water coming in the back and all, around the door seals.  I don't think the windscreen or rear window is leaking.  The rubbers appear new (they aren't hard or crumbling) but aren't doing the job.

Is there a way to tell if they have been seated correctly (and don't say 'look for leaks').  Can anyone give me some hints/tricks/tips on replacing the weather seals and also a good place to get the right rubbers?  I'm in WA but don't mind buying interstate.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.  I've seen heaters on ebay every now and then so I suppose I'll have a bid next time.

8  General / General Board / Mystery air vent on a '58 FC Station Wagon - Help!! on: June 17, 2009, 06:01:31 PM
Hi all

OK - dumb question alert....

I recently bought a '58 FC stn wagon.  There's a small lever underneath the glove box that opens a flap on the outside of the car right in front of the wiper blades.  When it's open, air blows in from underneath the dash and it seems to have 3 positions (low air to high air).

My question is how do you get the INSIDE air vents in front of the windscreen (?? de-misters) to work?  Should this lever do it or might it be broken?  Also, is there a heater you can add to the FC?

thanks everyone

Hello

Do you have a set of 3 dash board knobs - the ones for choke, lights and wiper?  If you do, are they in good condition and can you please send a pic'n'price to mail them to perth?

My email address is dperoni@webace.com.au

Cheers!!
