For any one interested,
I pulled my FC off the road early in June as i fitted dummy spots one night at my mates place.  On reversing out of his shed I busted the linkages inside the column.  I drove it home in second gear and luckily got it into the shed with a smelly clutch........   Then a week later after a few Platinum extra drys I pulled it apart.  Stripped the interior and column.  The floor is not in bad nick but the rear passenger floor is shot so I picked up a nos pan for $10-.  FE HOTROD is helping me rebuild it so we cut out my gerarbox tunnel as I bought a trimatic and a trimatic conversion kit to go in it.  I have now got the hony pot smoothed over and you would never know it had a shifter on it at all!!  I have sanded back nearly half of the car but have got a lot further to go yet let me tell you.  I have also purchased 2.5 inch flappers which should also look good on a new set of cross plys.  With crossplys it will have to go an inch lower at least.  I am also fabricating a swan shifter which will be at dash height to change gears on the trimatic.  A new kustom grill should be doon soon also which should hopefully look ok as i have sold all my nasco bits now.........  and I have now got flame throwers!!!!!!!!  will have to be careful though as hoon legislation is now in in Vic.  The FC is in a lot of bits but it will be back on the road this year with a whole new look.  I cant wait as i really miss driving it around.  The twin headlight are now on the back burner as it will be a real hard job for someone like me.  I will take some pics and get em on real soon, mind you not much to look at but I got 98% of all bits ready to get it back on the raod.  It will look like areal olskool cruzer a bit yankee ish though, but that swhat i like.  I realise my FC is not real popular on this sight but I like this site even though most cars are resto ones.  Anyhow I will keep regular updates if anyone is interested, cheers all

I don't know why you think that, but I for one am glad you saved that FC from a restorer.
Now find a pair of spare guards with a bit of rust in the peaks and give that twin headlight idea a go. If it don't work out, you only stuffed a pair of guards.
Let's see the pics.

Probably didnt come out right, sounded like I was sooking a bit!!..... what i meant was I dont think kustoms , especially old holdens are real popular, anyhow enough of that.  I now have a good digital camera and I have a week off work next week so i will get some some pics on.  I have got onto some old guards and I will eventually try some twins but not just yet as i need to get it back on the road before summer or I will go around the bend.  It is in a very sad and sorry state at the moment but that will change shortly.  I have some good ideas and with FE HOTROD helping (doing most of the work while I swill stubbies.........) it will be a pretty good old cruzer.  my mates old man worked for Repco here in ballarat all his life and i have heard some stories about Repco heads possibly flaoting around, possibly....... be a nice pick up if it is true.  Probably another ghost story but I will dig a bit and see what enlightens.

Collecta,
Those saw teeth were disgusting....  but for a first time and they only cost me $30- I shouldnt complain but they were the first to get sanded off.  Original paint but with proper scallops the same as the 54 blue chev on the fr4ont of July edition of OlSkool Rodz mag, they are only small ones not like the monstrosity I had..............  I probably should put a set of ol tasman mags on it with no springs, that would look kool.

Well, me and HOTROD worked on the FC last sunday trying to fit up the trimatic.  Unfortunately with modifying old cars we got nowhere...... as the flex plate was all wrong and the trimatic kit only fits EK hydromatics.  Still we will prevail and keep going.  I have kept sanding it back and all door handles and scratch plates are off now.  I have to stop buying bits for it but i cant help myself.  I probably have bitten off more than I can chew but I KNOW i will have it back on the road not to far in the distatnt future and it will be a real Kool ol car for cruzin.  Stuff the footy finals Im working on it all weekend(sanding only.....)  Ive got 3 weeks off soon so hopefully gearbox will get done and i will have ut rolling again, once rolling it will be full steam ahead.  Ive got plenty of pics but i still cant work out photobucket.  Ive picked up 2.5 inch flappers which should look pretty good i think but I reckon I will go back to crossplys for more of an older look.  This thing will look more like a yank machine but thats what im after.  Pics soon soon soon.............
