This has to be the saddest week for Australia in a long time.Just saw footage of Peter Brock driving that wonderful FX in England.Gees,a 138 doing 6000 Rpm,with a legend of Holden motor sport at the wheel. He will be long remembered as a true blue Aussie, and a Holden icon........Rest in peace Peter

were did you see the footage, I knew the car was going to goodwind but didnt know it already raced, how did he go?
here it is on the brock site, no news on how it went. http://teambrock.com.au/cgi-bin/noticeboards/get_notice.cgi?NOTICE_ID=16370&TEMPLATE=view_full&TEMPLATE_UID=461829
it sure would be a good week to start over again.

I heard the news today and still can't believe it true, a boyhood hero watching Brocky on the mountain, a true master at his trade. A very sad loss to all
Our prayers go out to his family.
RIP Brocky
We will all miss you.

Brocky was one of my idols as I was growing up in the late 1970s and I got a chance to have a good little yarn with Brocky at last year's Brocky's Big Day Out. It was awesome to be able to talk to and crack a joke with a motoring legend who came across as an ordinary bloke with a great sense of humour .... no pretentiousness or snobbiness. Australia has lost one of its finest sons, if not THE finest. Cry

RIP Brocky .... hope there's plenty of Holdens up there for you in that great place in the sky mate!!!

I think he came 4th, wich aint to bad considering he was running against more purpose built jags & stuff. from what I have heard now he just got back from driving the fx when he was in the daytona.
Must be tricky racing in one car one day and a completely different one the next.

Brocky will surely be missed by all i must say he was a proper legend and always followed his career.  One of my work colleagues showed me today a listing he put on ebay for a book he has that he paid $100- for from an auction.  has listed it for $1500-.................... what can I say?Huh   I was very p*&^%$d off and told him so.  Just another individual trying to cash in I spose.

I can only echo what you've all said already. This is a great loss to Australia. I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to meet & talk with Brocky a few times. It was such a pleasure chatting with him...the man is a deadset legend. I've attended Bathurst for the last 23 years and I'm sure it just won't be the same anymore.

Thanks for the memories Peter.

Hard to believe.   I was enjoying my lunch totally oblivious, and just up the road, a legend was losing his life.  Too echo Nunzio, Collecta and Tayz.....you have to ask yourself how much a Brocky fan you really are, if you cheapen his tragedy by selling out on him for Money.

To all you ebay leaches...Selling a book for $1500 hey...plastic car litter bags for $60 and so on....is that all he was worth to you ?
How would you feel if a drunk driver crashed into your car and killed your partner/wife/husband, and you were compensated $1500 for your loss.

Leaches !

If you want to sell your hard earned Brocky Memorabilia, then do it for the right reason, and donate ALL of it to the Peter Brock Foundation !

RIP Peter...have a beer with Trev for me !
