Hey Devilrod
Surely you would have some pics from when you owned it. How about sharing a couple if you do. Always interested to see the history of a car.
Much appreciated.

Sadly I don't have that many and definetly not digital! I'll get organized over the chrissy break and scan some to post. All that seems to have changed on the car from the earlier shots was the seat inserts and the wheels/tyres. Not noticeable was the auto and highstall installed by the previous owner to me. He too kept the car imaculate.

I used it as a daily driver from 95ish through till 98 then resprayed it and used it only on weekends till I sold it around mid 2001.

If I remember anything else I'll post it later....

Damn nice car to drive.

Hi All
I finally unpacked the last of my boxes and tracked down the 1984 Street Machine Magazine featuring BL 444.

Cheers Jim

Tony (nascohunter) sent me this pic to share.
Taken at Holden's 40 anniversary at Port Melbourne in 1988, it shows "the Big M" car in a line up of FC's.

Is it the same car? If yes, this must have been before devilrod owned it.

Cheers Alex. Car and plates are definitely his but we're not too sure on the driver of the car. Seems to have way too much hair for Bob in those days

As other people have mentioned this FC was the basis for my passion throughout the 80's.  I had every magazine this FC was in.  Its great now to see these pics of it.  Also Alan HALES FC was sensational and to see it at the last nats was great.  I hope this FC is still kicking strong somewhere

Hey Alex, thats not it. If you look it has no flares on the gaurds and what looks to be a different interior altogether. I have found some pics and a more current feature in a car audio mag that was done while I owned it. Only problem is my scanner software doesn't like XP. I'll have to do it at work and post them.

Sure wish I knew where it was know, wouldn't mind seeing what condition its in...

Hey Devilrod.
Looking forward to seeing the pics.
I guess my question is:
Is Bob's FC the same car as the FC in the Big M adverts?
We didn't get Big M adverts in Sydney back then (a Vic drink), so have no first hand account of the car.
The car in Tony's pic may be the Big M car, and like you, I don't believe it is Bob's car. So are they 1 and the same?
I came across another pic of Bob's car the other day. I will get it posted soon.

Bob's FC was used in the Big M ads but unfortunately the car looked too good. So they sprayed something over the car to dull it off for the ad, the downside of which was the paint started to craze later on in life, basically not long after I got it. Hence the respray.

Over the years quite a few FC's have been built in similar colour schemes and I'm guessing that the one you posted Alex is just another.

Bringing this back to the top and for a very good reason.

Its resurfaced!!!!! And is for sale, sadly I don't think i'll be buying it back. But if anyone wants the number a member of the vic FC/FE club saw it and has it written down. I have no idea of price or condition other than it still looks good...his words.

Found the ad on you tube that I loved so much back then.  Hopefully I have done the right thing with the link.

Thanks for the link to the advert.
I had not seen it before.....must have been a Vic ad.
Interesting to hear that the car has turned up again.
I would like to see it's current state after all these years.

Back then the ad was huge, all you had to say with a snooty voice was "oh how quaint, an Australian car" and people would know exactly what you were referring to. Absolute gold.

Recognise the driver and the bird with red hair with Brad but their names escape me at the minute.

Cheers  M

Loved the ad. Ah what memories Cheesy As you say it was hugely popular and I was driving an FC at the time. Every time I was out, there would be people coming up to me and asking where I left my big M.   Roll Eyes

thanks for the clip - brilliant!
