rearveiw mirror

i found a cover that fits over the rearveiw mirror
i got it off fc  (oval shaped?) it is in good condition and the chrome has a cut out to suit a day night miror it could be of a different car not sure i took it off the fc
could anyone help with info

Dave, it sounds like a mirror available from one of the 50's/60's aftermarket houses like "Motor Spares"
The FE/FC was criticised for having a rear view mirror which was too small - hence the bigger mirror on the FB/EK
The oval mirror you have would have been sold as a universal mirror to suit lots of cars including English cars which also had very small rear view mirrors.

its not a mirror its a glass   cover with a chrome surround that fits over the top of the mirror

Dave- I've never seen one - but what does it do ? It,s not tinted to block headlight glare is it.

i think its just another one of those fancy bits its not tinted theres no markings on it.  i just have no use for it but want to find out if it will fit fc/fe b4 i sell it .
like i said i took it from a fc but the mirror could have been changed
