Hi Russ,
These screw directly to the top of the sill panel. There should be holes already in the panel where they were screwed originally.
Cheers,

Thats the plate alright. Have a close inspection of the sill panel. There appears to be  ashadow in the pic which could be a hole.Get something sharp and put it through the kick plate where the holes are when the plate is in position make a mark on the sill panel and see if there is anything like a hole in the vicinity. Is it a sedan?

Russ,

FE/FCs don't have front carpet and only some FEs have it to the rear. FCs have rubber mats there as well. The mats just fit under the inside edge of the scuff plate and the plate screws down over them.

In front the kick panels fit over the mat, helping to hold it in and there is also an evil looking metal clip that holds the mat down on the toe board under the steering column and one in the same position(?) on the passengers side. With carpet you may need addittional fastners over the transmission hump.

Rear should be no problem. The front mat overlaps the rear.

Hope this helps
Cheers

I would say the car has had some filler work on the sills and the holes have been bogged up or the car has had new sills fitted.
The easiest thing to do is sit the scuff plate in position and run a 1/8 drill through the hole.  If there is filler it will go straight through or it will drill a new hole.
